Web page
If you just want a presence on the web, with your contact details and maybe a short description of what you do, opening hours for your shop, times you take phone calls, etc, then you are looking at a single web page. This is the cheapest option. You can have 5 images and 500 word blurb on your web page.

Web site
If you have a lot of information you would like to share with others, you will need a web site. The most common size to start up with is 2-5 pages. As your company grows, you can add more pages. If your web site is no more than 5 pages big, you can have 15 pictures and 2000 word blurb on your web page. If you have opted for the bigger web site version, between 6-10 pages big, you can have 30 pictures and 4000 word blurb.

Hosting
Your web site will need to be hosted somewhere. There are some free options, but I would discourage you from using that option, as it won't look very professional with the constant advertising popping up from the hosting company. If you buy your hosting through DogBasicsDesign you will automatically get tracking of the traffic to your web site and a contact form (your guests just fill in their details in the form and it is then forwarded to you via email).

Domain name
When you have a web precence you should invest in a domain name that relates to the content of your web site. Try to think of a name that is as short and easy to remember as possible. A good example of easily remembered names (even if some of them are a bit on the lengthy side) are: iwantoneofthose.com, lastminute.com, ryanair.com, bbc.co.uk. Also think of which audience you are aiming for. If you are selling products strictly within the UK, there is no need for you to have a .com domain, in fact a .co.uk would be much more suitable. If you are running a site with information that is global or you are selling products to other countries than your own, a .com domain is best. Banner Design
To advertise your web page/site on other web sites, you are well adviced to have a banner with your logo and a catchy text, that will entice the viewer to click on the banner to go to your page/site. I can design original static or animated banners for you in any size you would like.

Extra services
If you don't have access to email, a CD burner or you already have a text for your web site written out on regular paper, I can type it out for you. This is a time consuming job, so I prefer to receive the text in an email or via CD in a simple text format (Word is fine). Although I will notify you of any spelling mistakes I find, I will not guarantee that I will find them all, so making sure all the text is correct is your job.
